Hi, Folks!
As most of you know, mountain folks are musical. They are known for their ability to sing and play a variety of musical instruments. They even improvise, utilizing the unlikeliest of items in order to make rhythmical sounds, such as spoons, a broom or just their hands.
In years past, it was common place to have “singings” or “pickings” at churches, front porches and around campfires.
This past weekend, I was invited to attend an Open House at the Tater Gap Cabin Studio by local artist Polly Gott.
While there, I bought a couple of pieces and had the delight of enjoying her husband and daughter, Peter & Susi, break into a rendition of “Little Maggie”.
I captured the moment on video, albeit a little late from the start.
I’m going to just let the music speak for itself.
Y’all have a great week!
